Easter Quiz

We got our Easter preparations underway early at The Vale with a suitably-themed quiz and lunch hosted by our favourite vicar, Father Steffan of St Peters.  These lunchtime quiz sessions are a great way for our residents to meet members of the local Streatham Seniors and to find out what else is going on in the area for the over 55s.

The questions were fun, varied and, at times, tricky.  How many marzipan balls decorate a simnel cake? What are the brand names of favourite Easter chocolates? The teams were also charged with solving anagrams of famous rabbits including:

The Rump (Thumper)

Nubby Guns (Bugs Bunny)

Bribe Patter (Peter Rabbit)

One testing question had The Valees and Streatham Seniors conferring on how to wish someone a ‘Happy Easter’ in different languages from Welsh to Icelandic.

With the quiz concluded, it was on to a delicious lunch in The Vale’s Bar & Bistro. On the menu were lamb shanks in red wine sauce and Eton Mess as a tasty treat to follow.

There was a hubbub of conversation during the meal with much laughter and talk of the Easter festivities to come.
