The Vale’s Garden Bistro is now officially open with the launch party (8 July) providing a taste of what awaits diners.
We are delighted to welcome chef, Gordon Gellatly, whose wealth of experience in a variety of top roles, will undoubtedly yield some delicious menus. If the launch party’s sumptuous canapés were anything to go by, we all have treats in store.
Gordon’s impressive CV includes working for some of London’s top contract dining providers, amongst them as Head Chef for Roux Fine Dining at Credit Suisse, Head Chef for Sodexo at Unilever and Head Chef Hospitality at Invesco.
Outside of the corporate side of catering he has also cooked, prepared menus and managed kitchen teams at Ye Olde Punch Bowl Inn, York and Fullers Brewery. Most recently, he was Head Chef for Rokewood Court, a luxury care home in Surrey, so he is well used to planning nutritional menus and creating tempting food for the more mature palate.
Gordon said: “I am thrilled to be joining The Vale team. With more than 30 years’ experience in the catering trade, I feel confident I can produce an exceptionally high standard of work. I am passionate about creating exciting, varied menus using the best fresh produce and I can’t wait to begin and to get to know the residents at The Vale so that I can create a variety of tempting meals they will look forward to.”
Initially, The Garden Bistro will open on Sundays for lunch to residents and their families plus Sunday lunch and Monday and Thursdays for breakfast/all days snacks.
