At The Vale, we like to do things in style and Valentine’s Day was no exception. Residents entered the Bar & Bistro to find it adorned with red hearts and foil swirl decorations which were also reflected in the lovely red, foil-wrapped heart chocolates on the table.
Having showcased his culinary skills only a couple of weeks ago, our new chef Murrali triumphed with a delicious lunch offering a choice of dishes that included sea bass or chicken in a wild mushroom sauce. Feeling suitably sated, it was time to test our diners’ grey cells with a fun, ‘love’-themed quiz. This prompted a great deal of discussion, laughter and competition. Indeed, so close was the contest that a three-way tie break was needed to decide the winner. The ‘Cul-de-Sacs’ team eventually emerged triumphant.
Everyone who took part received a single rose and the winners were presented with some luxury chocolates.
All agreed that the event was a great success. Romance was definitely in the air, a sentiment that prompted Dolly to end the occasion by singing ‘I will always love you’.
