How to make your tea blooming marvellous

Have you ever wondered what to do with that odd vintage china cup and saucer? Don’t throw it away – The Vale’s aspiring florists have the answer. Turn them into an attractive flower arrangement.

Residents recently learned how to make their own creations, under the guidance of their tutor. Everything was provided, from a selection of summer blooms, tea roses, carnations, fragrant freesia and rosemary to bone china tea cups and saucers. Even tea, coffee and tasty biscuits were on offer to help the creative process flow.

They were taught the basics of floral design – how to select their favourite blooms, cut them to size and form a rounded shape in the vintage cups.

All achieved this with great aplomb and everyone went back to their apartment with a gorgeous, fresh flower arrangement to adorn any desk or brighten up any table. Tea at The Vale will never be quite the same again.
