The delicate, pastel shades of hydrangeas were the focus of our most recent art masterclass at The Vale.
Under their tutor’s guidance, participants explored the painting techniques required to capture the soft colour of the pink blooms and the subtle texture of the petals, contrasting these with the vivid greens of the leaves.
Of course, everyone brought their own personal style to their canvas which is what being an artist is all about.
There was quiet concentration and an air of calm punctuated with encouraging comments, smiles and a sense of achievement with the finished artwork.
Many of the ‘students’ have taken part in a goodly number of sessions now and their application is really paying off. One can see obvious progress in their work as they move from beginners towards becoming confident, accomplished artists.
