The magic of the Hawaiian Islands drifted over Streatham when The Vale experienced a wonderful, tropical-themed evening. As the sun set, our beautifully decorated Bar & Bistro was transformed into a slice of paradise that echoed to the soothing sounds of Hawaiian music.
Guests arrived, sporting colourful shirts and vibrant summer outfits, to be greeted by a traditional lei welcome complete with floral garlands. A magnificent meal, prepared by our talented chef, tempted the eye as well as the palate. There were delicacies such as garlic shrimps, haloumi cheese with pineapple, grilled tuna and home-made pork burgers followed by chocolate cake or fresh fruit salad served in coconut shells. All was washed down with refreshing drinks or a cool, coconut water.
Residents felt they had been transported to the Pacific as they reminisced about past travels or simply enjoyed the company of friends. All agreed it was a delightful escape, offering a taste of the tropics right here in South London.
