Musical Notes are on the Cards

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at The Vale. Things hit just the right note as Marina Beard led another of her art masterclasses.

This time it was card-making ready for the festive season. Residents took sheet music of their favourite carols and combined them with metallic gold gouache to create unique, collaged Christmas cards.

Art and geometry skills were put to the test as participants drew stars to adorn their creations.

The words of the carols prompted a few spontaneous renditions of ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Jingle Bells’ and there was a lot of talk about Christmases in times past. Even Paddington Bear made an appearance as one resident wanted to make a special card for her grandchild.

Lots of creative fun was had and these home crafted cards will have certaintly brought on the spirit of Christmas at The Vale!
