The annual Streatham Festival, had its launch at the end of last week. The event was supported by The Vale, Antony Gold Solicitors, Streatham Rotary Cub, The Streatham Society, our local clergy and the MP for Streatham, Bell Ribeiro-Addy.
The Festival, which runs until 16 October, has been a fixture in the local community arts calendar since 2002. It celebrates music, entertainments and the visual arts.
This year’s events include:
- A talk about the extraordinary life of William Morris (11 Oct, at Streatham Space Project) – The Art & Craft of William Morris)
- The Sing Out Streatham Community Choir (13 Oct, at SW16 Bar & Kitchen) – Streatham Community Choir)
- Family Events at The Rookery, including a Flamenco workshop (15 Oct, The Rookery) – Family Events at the Rookery
- A Literary Festival Literature Festival
- Photography Workshops – Eye on Streatham Photography and so much more.
Contributions by local artists are also on show, as evidenced at the launch event. The artworks are likely to attract our fledgling art group from The Vale, who will be looking to pick up some tips at the botanical drawing or photography sessions. Streatham Art
