Wimbledon Tea is a Winner at The Vale

The sun may not have exactly been beating down on Wimbledon’s Centre Court, but a few miles down the road at The Vale, summer and tennis were in full swing.

You could almost smell it in the air – the scent of Pimms and strawberries – all ready for a classic summer tea.

Green and purple flower installations with bright fresh yellow tennis balls decorated the room. The tables were set with vintage tea cup flower arrangements, made by residents and learned at their recent floral decoration workshop.

First service was a glass of Pimms, followed by mixed doubles of strawberries and cream, smashing treats, slices of cake and other ace dishes that had all 24 participants in a spin.

Everyone agreed it was a quintessentially English, champion event, with all-round winners and best of all, no rain.
