Time for the Great Outdoors

As spring gives way to summer with warmer days and lighter evenings, what better time to get outside and take advantage?

Not too far away, the Friends of Streatham Common, have a number of events coming up.

If you want to get to know the Common better, there is a guided walk on 3 June. Led by Dr Iain Bolton from Lambeth Council’s Parks Department, it will take a closer look at the wildlife and habitats of this green oasis. You might be surprised to discover just how many species live here. Meet at the Rookery Café at 2.00 pm. This is a free event.

If Music Be the Food of Love

If Shakespeare is more your thing, the Rookery is hosting a production of Twelfth Night on 4 June. Bring a blanket to sit on the lawn, or a chair if you prefer. The performance starts at 3.00 pm and tickets can be purchased in advance (£17 for adults, £6 for under-16s) by telephoning 01726 63513 (9.00am to 8.00pm) or online
